Hattiesburg, MS 39403
The Jaycees mission is to instill in young people a spirit of genuine Americanism and civic interest, and to provide them with opportunity for personal development and achievement and an avenue for intelligent participation in the affairs of the community, state, and nation, and to develop true friendship and understanding among young persons of all nations.

Get off the bench and save a life Labor Day weekend with the Hattiesburg Junior Chamber of Commerce
Labor of Love Blood Drive.

The Jaycees and United Blood Services are joining in the annual drive Aug. 29 at the United Blood Services office at 805 South 28th Ave. This year's drive is extra critical because area hospitals are completely out of Type O blood.

"One donor can save up to three lives, so why not roll up your sleeves and give the gift of life?," said Bradley Verrette, president of the group. "Our goal is to get 100 people to give this year."

The Jaycees will cook lunch on the grill for all donors.Each donor gets a t-shirt designed by cartoonist Ricky Nobile. The shirts are themed around the USM season opener to be played that weekend at "The Rock."

Anyone 17 or older in reasonably good health can give. Anyone aged 16 can give with parental consent. For information, call (662) 347-4267.

The Jaycee Creed

We believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth's great treasure lies in human personality;

And that service to humanity is the best work of life.

The Jaycees are always looking for new members. People are why the organization exists. People, as members, are provided opportunities to do projects and programs, to learn from what they do and grow from what they learn.

The Jaycees consist of young people 18 - 40 years of age, living and working in the Hattiesburg area. We all have two things in common – a will to make a difference in the community and a desire to learn of leadership skills.

Fellowship is a strong by-product of working closely with other people. From time-to-time we get togther just for fun, and the annual Jaycees Super Bowl Party is one of our favorite gatherings. Pigskins and fellowship are always a big hit at the end of the NFL season.

Anyone interested in meeting the Jaycees or learning more about the organization is invited to attend our meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at 208 Hutchinson Ave., to call 582-9085 or e-mail the Membership VP.
